About Us

Hello, I'm Angela, the owner of King's Cross Bookstore. Thank you for visiting our website!

I frequently get asked, "What prompted you to open a Christian bookstore?" Here's our story:

While working as a Hospice Chaplain and serving the local Church, the Lord placed a deep burden on my heart to open a bookstore that would help draw His children deeper into the Word of God. Matthew 4:4 served as a consistent meditation in my heart: "It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'"

The Holy Spirit opened my eyes even more to the desperate hunger that so many people had for truth—for the Gospel—for a deeper understanding of Jesus. And, the Holy Spirit began to cause profound grief within me over the suffering and brokenness that is so prevalent. Additionally, God revealed how challenging it is to find true orthodox Christian books in local communities, giving me a passionate yearning to glorify Christ more intimately in the souls of many through the written Word and Bible companion tools like commentaries, devotionals rooted in Scripture and classic writings from faithful men and women of faith from times past.

And, in June 2019, I opened King's Cross Bookstore in Lancaster, CA. The store quickly became a place of intercession, unity, and love among God's children. A beautiful and humbling experience! My greatest blessing was assisting new believers in selecting their first Bible, praying with believers and witnessing children joyfully engaging with scripture!

In 2020, we opened a 2nd store in California City and launched our e-commerce site. Experiencing God's grace, we were humbled to again be the local resource for Bibles and Christ-centered study tools while introducing authors that speak critically, deeply and Biblically on salvation, prayer, discipline, long-suffering and humility to name a few. Testimonies poured in as people were able to find Bibles in larger prints, Bibles for their children and material that helped them to better understand the word of God.

Through our service at the bookstores, God graciously unveiled the pressing need for more laborers in the Lord's vineyard within the local Church to my husband and I, echoing the timeless wisdom found in Matthew 9:37: "The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few".

Soon after, the Lord began to prepare our hearts to step away from prioritizing the bookstore and to reprioritize serving the local Church with a greater passion to share God's truth, opening our eyes to the pain, trauma, and confusion that existed within our own hometown among those who were not grounded in the Word of God. The Holy Spirit began to instill in us a deep conviction to serve our local community through prayer, evangelism, and providing meals. So, we submitted to the difficult decision to no longer operate our brick-and-mortar stores full-time. We are praying about opening a PT pop up location.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve King's Cross Bookstore throughout the U.S. and internationally with our website and weekly newsletter.

Thank you for being part of our mission to lead readers into a deeper, more disciplined and intimate relationship with Christ through King's Cross Bookstore, now exclusively online. We look forward to serving you!

Many spiritual blessings,

Angela Przybyszewski
